TLM user guide¶
Welcome. This tool helps you maintain the curriculum (the "knowledge graph") and produce teaching materials — pupil manuals and lesson sheets — for mathematics and reading, keeping everything consistent from one chapter to the next.
Your two working surfaces¶
You work with two surfaces, and nothing else to install:
- Chatting with Claude. This is where everything happens: you ask for what you want in plain language, and Claude handles the details. Creating a lesson, generating a manual, publishing a change — you ask for all of it in writing. There are no complicated buttons to learn; this guide shows you what to ask and what to expect.
- The explorer. A read-only web page that displays the published curriculum — the standards, chapters, lessons and how they link together. You use it to look, never to edit. See Explore the graph.
Who does what¶
What you can do depends on your role. In the system a single word — curator — covers several jobs; the table below starts from what you do day to day.

Anyone can explore the graph and generate materials. Editing the curriculum needs the curator role; publishing those edits needs the approver role.

Where to start¶
- Getting started — connect Claude to the tool, sign in, pick the workspace, grade and subject.
- Build the curriculum — create a knowledge graph, then build the standards and components.
- Design the courses — add and edit a course and its lessons, create instructional routines, create formatters.
- Generate teaching materials — produce a manual or lesson sheets.
- Review, publish or discard a draft — check changes and make them official.
- Explore the graph — view the curriculum in the explorer.
- Administration & development — add a workspace or a subject.

Two safety rules to remember
Nothing important happens without your confirmation. Saving a document, publishing a change: Claude first shows you what is about to happen, and waits for your approval.
Curriculum edits go through a draft. Your changes pile up separately and only reach document generation once an approver has published them. That is your safety net.
